I can truly attest that the restrictions are working in VT. I have hunted in VT for 25 years and never ever saw what I would consider a rack buck untill the last two years. Last year, my son and I saw three different rack bucks, one he missed during the black powder season, and two earlier with bow in hand. Last Sunday we had a lagit eight point come by in the am. It was windy and he came from a blind spot and caught us both off gaurd. He was ten yards before we knew it. By the time the boy got his bow in is hand and the release on the string, it was too late. Wether your for it or not, its working at least where we hunt.

Well, I was sceptical myself at first, but it does seem to be working. This has been at the cost of letting a spike horn walk right past my son the last two seasons in a row. He was 10 and 11 yoa and was hard to see them pass. I like to hunt mature bucks, not that I have never shot a spike, or won't in the future but thats not for everybody. I know some guys who shoot the first legal deer they see and are very heppy with it. Good for them...I'll wait.
