Matt, I am having the same issue as I would guess many guys are not much bragging going on. Its tough second year in a row with a kings ransom of food, wicked tough to pattern these jamokes, but not to worry the great thing about oct. is that the big boys are going to be cruising in another 3 weeks lookin for some honeys. I saw my first scrape today, true story couldnt believe it so i took a picture pretty fresh also and made sure to zoom in on the track in the middle of it. Thought at first he was digging for acorns but there is a licking branch there also. Good luck and keep the faith. Oh yeah expected to see bones update on here congrats on that, I got a blister on my finger from playing phone tag with you, try me tomorrow.

Fowle, Dont feel too bad. I have pics of 15 bucks and cant see one during daylight. I FINALLY see a deer today on the state land im hunting. Now southern Ct is a different story on state land. Deer everywhere. But the main problem is too much food I think. Deer can eat, sleep, and never move from one spot right now. Its literally like nothing I have ever seen down here when it comes to acorns. Basically just hoping to be on right trail. All you can do is keep scouting as much as your actually hunting. If you get caught in rut of sitting a few places you may have a REAL LONG season with tag soup... Find the droppings and generally you found where they are for a little bit.. We know you already have the scent control down so that cant be problem..

Thanks to all who replied by the way.Scent contol is under control, hanging high in the tree(not scared to swing a bit in the gail force winds lol).Oh this dog aint giving up,Just another challenge in the deers domain. Acorns are unreal this year in spots, never would have guessed that after last years droppings.Going back at it today to check a cam in a sweet spot,With a little luck and some die hard determination I'll have something down shortly.Best of luck guys and gals and thanks.

As North East Deer-Hunters we must not loose the faith...Panax and I had a great talk about the 11th day..simply the hope that on that 11th day he or she will step out..we hunt alot on hope and the fact if we didnt see deer on a sit than the chances are better the next time..weird..here we hunt luck and odds..mixed in witha little sign..and few deer..BUT...AS THE BEST DEER HUNTERS WILL TELL YA EVERY TIME...SCOUT 4 HOURS FOR EVERY HOUR YOU SIT..THIS HAS BEEN MY THEORY THIS YEAR AND IT'S PROVED TO BE PRETTY GOOD..I'VE HAD THE PRIVI OF SEEING 10-12 DEER..A NICE 8..4..AND THE REST DOE..SMASHED A BIG RONE DOE THURS AM WITH DENZ ON CAM 2...ALSO HERE IS A LITTLE TRICK FOR GETTING IN THE GROVE...HANG ON THE FRESH--FRESH STUFF SIT IT THAT PM AND AGAIN THE NEXT AM..IF NO DEER FIND A NEW PLACE TO DO THE SAME THING..THIS KEEPS YOUR PATTERN DOWN AND A CONSTENT MOVE WILL EVENTUALLY PUT YOU IN DEER..I'M DOING THIS IN 3-4 DIFFERENT AERAS SO NOT TO OVER HUNT THE SAME GROUP OF DEER..YOU'VE GOT MORE FOOTY THAN MOST--NOT BECAUSE YOUR LUCKY...CAUSE YOUR HARD CORE...KEEP ON KEEPIN ON ONLY 75 DAYS LEFT..!!! LOL HOLLA BRA WHEN YA CAN...!!!!

A friend and I have been hunting just about every day and have seen very few deer. Trail camera tells us they are there but mostly moving at night. We'll keep at it and hopefully our luck will start to turn.

Bone....I just read your post about scouting 4 hours hunting 1 etc...and about hunting fresh sign...Well I try and do some ground pounding but have found myself recently hanging in with what has worked in the past and putting in my time kinda thing knowing the deer were there etc based on sign and cameras..Anyway..Last wednesday I got up and just couldnt get myself going..rough night with a newborn in the house..anyway decided to check a spot i found during turkey season and saw some deer...Couldnt get an easy way in there..So went to work and did some computer recon with google earth etc...Found my way into an overgrown field..Went thursday morning as I really wanted to check this place out...Got to the field and well its not overgrown anymore..its a cornfield with some standing corn still...Walked the field and tracks all over..I was wound up and ready right then to hang a stand..Found a tree line seperating field and some grassy areas...walked over there and began poking around..Jumped 3 deer..Ok now im really pumped as this was 8am in the morning and they were on there feet around there...Well no trees in this thin woodline for a climber so figured id have to get a hang on if I wanted in that tree line..Well I couldnt wait that long...Txted a buddy and said we had to move on this spot quick as it was kicking with sign...He couldnt go friday night so I packed my gear friday morning and brought it to work..Left early got to the field around 3..brought my climber and figured id get into the timber a little where it looked like they were stagging..Found my tree cleared one or two branches and up I went.3:45 I was settled in...Called wife at 4 to remind of me hunting..4:30 deer sighted..walked by me toward field..No way they were going in that early..Well 5-10 mins they came back through..out of range each time at like 80 yards..this time they walked by and I thought they were gone..Nope they came into the timber where I was...25 yards open lane and the lead doe was mine...hit her great..she never knew what hit her..ran 10 yards stopped and stood there..Im thinking I missed and have 2 more deer in my sights..but then agian I know i saw that lumenock light and dissappear in her side...just then she bolts and drops...25 yards total..down...125lb doe.. Hoyt Vectrix...Easton Axis 400...125 grain spitfire...Let the air right out of her..The others one small and another mature doe hung around for another 30 minutes..giving me time to relax and text my hunting buddies.... I agree with ya...move quick on the most recent information that looks promising....and I thank you for putting that refresher thought in my head...I had gotten away from that as of late...Well it paid off...
