I was shooting 150 grains of Pyrodex pellets and a 250 grain Barnes Tipped bullet in mine. Shot about 1 inch groups at 100..
Every now and then would get a bad flyer..But think it had more to do with bad pellets. Think im going back to Pyrodex powder this year

Yes they did Shawn. Looks Like the only choice we will have now is the $ 900.00 TC's.

I have to tell you I owned one, bought a prohunter in 07 and sold it that winter. The bullet after the second shot would not hit the line on my ramrod, I called TC about it and they said they knew of the problem and that they needed to be shot clean. I tried all kinds of powder and still had the same afect. I have now gone back to the cheap yet reliable H&R, it groups awsome and never have had a problem only one misfire in pretty much a huricane a few years back.I am trying shockeys powder and am real happy with the groups, just hard to find it in the pellets unless you order it online but it is as clean as they advertise. But not crazy on the prohunter and the barrells are as much as buying a new 870 seems like alot of money for a single shot to me.

I have a tc encore katahdin....short 50 cal barrel, and have not had a lot of luck with shockeys gold....i think it needs a longer barrel for complete burn.....on that note...i use 2 777 pellets under a 250 super shockwave (the slippery sabot) and have no problems shooting ten in a row with no patch between....and can usually get one ragged hole at 100 yards off a rest. That being said, I also have two Remington 700 muzzleloaders that will only shoot well using 300 grain bullets and 2 777 pellets....get some range time and play around with different loads...and the best thing you can do for your groups is to run a wet patch after each shot....+ some barrels just need to break inG4

Well I am glad you got it resolved bud. But if Knight folded that is terrible..I have used their muzzleloaders for a long time. And I cant even hunt with a Pro Hunter or a KP1 in Mass..No break open Muzzys there. Luckily I have a Disc also.
Good luck this fall with it. I got a nice 8 with my 308 barrel last year and a doe in Vt with the muzzleloader. Plus 6 longbeards this spring with the 12 guage barrel. That short little single shot throws one hell of a pattern and easy to carry.
Good luck men

Can anyone tell me where to find KP1 barrels and forearms in the Upper Valley? Maybe a place that has them in stock. Or maybe someone has a barrel that they would sell? I am looking for a 308 stainless and a 12 gauge. Thanks
