I'm waiting for my PSE Bow Madness to finish getting the 'Works' package from BowXperts.com. I'm ready to shoot! I shot Bone's Bow Madness last week, the SUPER TUNE is da BOMB!
His draw is 1 inch longer than mine and we were driving tacks with it at 40 yard after only 6 arrows!

That said, 3D is kinda bleak here in VT. Anyone know a good course to shoot in the Upper Valley. It's been years since I've been to a good shoot, and I'm itching!
I should have my PSE in about a week or two(can't rush the BpwXperts!) and I'll be ready to shoot. The recurve is fun, but I like the compound too!

I am running an archery league weekly at the elkins fish and game club every thursday starting the 16th. Hope you guys wont be upset getting smoked by a dude shooting an alpha max though LOL.

I wont be making the 3D shoots, however I bought an Alphamax back in December before joining Real Deal, and after shooting with the PSE, and some of the guys on the team, hope you don't mind getting smoked either one AHAHAHHAHA JK...

Have fun at the shoot

JB i shot the new PSE stuff but had to go back to hoyt i was shooting matthews the last two years had a switchback two years ago and a DXT last year they are alright but a little slow i only have a 27 inch draw. I like the PSE but they are a little jumpy for me and at full draw they are ready to go, defintly will break any habbits of cheating forward before release or peaking one might have. Hoping this year to see what this alpha max can do pretty happy with my speed, not smoking but great penatration in targets using superslims. I did shoot the matthews monster and that thing screams 28 inch draw with a 305gr. arrow at 60lbs got 342 but you no what they say a slow hit is better than a quick miss.

You hit the nail right on the head with that. I would much rather take a bow dialed in that I am confident in my shot, than one that is going to send my carbon into the next county if I punch the trigger.

I have no issues with any bow companies out there. They are all great in their own ways and each have their own great features. Ive shot plenty of Hoyt, Matthews and now PSE. Myself and I am sure everyone else who shoots PSE stand behind what we shoot and feel confident that its whats going to get the job done when we put it at full draw. Trust me, these PSE can move and are super accurate. I shot one right out of the box with no tuning and was putting quarters on paper at 25 yards.... That says a lot about a manufacture in my opinion.

You got that right Shawn..I used to be all about the speed..But as long as I have my rangefinder I dont care how fast that bow is. My girlfriend shoots 46 pounds on her PSE Madness XS..Will have no problems killing deer. Hell she slammed them with a Browning youth bow last 2 years..LOL
I know alot of people think we talk up PSE because they are our sponsor. But to be honest with you we wont use ANYTHING we dont believe in..I shot Hoyt for 10 years also. You have a nice bow there.
My switch to the Xforce went very well. I am truly impressed with what PSE has done. They have come a long way.
Wish I could make the shoots. Long drive from Connecticut though..LOL

Hope to get a few guys to come check it out, we didnt do a league last year because they were logging behing the club where the course is set up. The two years prior to that we had anywhere between 15 to 25 guys so that was pretty cool and competitive. I try to do some novelty stuff shooting pingpong balls at odd yardage out to like 38 to 42 yards and that goes well 2bucks gets you 3 arrows, used to see that stuff alot back in the day when i shot a pile of 3D. Funny how bow hunters are probably the most anal induviduals on the planet i swear i can feel if my draw is of an 1/8 inch it might as well be 3 inches. which helps to detect the dreaded string stretch although most bow companys are putting on great strings the last 3 or 4 years i like winners choice strings, i have had my bows changed to them before they were even stock. Is PSE still using zebra string? Well hope this draws a few guys over there, talking hunting is going to start costing me sleep already, im starting to change all ready from my want to fish patern to ready to hunt. The fishing has been awsome before this last barage of rain the rivers are brutal but the ponds are the best they have been in years, the trout are still hanging on shorelines fairly shallow for this time of year so pretty easy pickings on the big ones

PSE puts Americas Best bowstrings on their top of line bows ( Xforces). I ALWAYS have Seth at Bow Xperts make me a string before I will even pick the bow up anyway. I cant afford that stretching..
If it helps bowseason is only about 71 days away...CANT FRIGGIN WAIT

Hey Shawn,
Thanks for the heads up on your 3D shoot/league. sounds fun! Gonna have to drag a couple of the boys with me! You are absolutly right about us anal archers. Even though I am able to shoot Bone's PSE at 1 inch longer draw it still feels like a mile! But the SUPER TUNE from Seth and Brian at BowXperts.com makes it soooooo much easier! And that's a true story. I have been shooting a Mathew's Switchback for a few years before we got our PSE's. I had a super old PSE Fire Flight from back in the day before that! Which I still have! There are some subtle differences between the Mathew's and the new PSE for sure. I love the thinner grip on the PSE, my Switchback feels like a tank now! As far as speed, I'll take one perfectly placed shot over speed anyday. I only have a 27 in draw as well, so I will never reach those unattainable IBO speed with my short arms!LOL! I didn't feel any jump in my hand with the PSE. With all the Sims Vibration stuff I can hardly feel any vibration.
Hopefully we will see you at the shoot!

well heres my week one update, bone made me eat a small portion of crow last night as he beat me 188 to 179 in the first night of the elkins 3-d leauge. I think i will try to get in his group next week see if i cant distract him with tales of huge bucks and monster long beards while he's at full draw and take him out of his game, just kidding thanks for you guys coming over we had a pretty good turn out and hope to see more next week.

All right fellas week two update on the Elkins Fish and Game 3D League. A andover underdog came out of no where to finish first this week with a 176, Bone and Scott were 2 and 3 both in the mid 170's and as for me like i told them the wind started swirling and those targets were real spooky i was at full draw on a javalina and felt the wind hit me in the back of the neck just as i was going to release my arrow, i shot and that pig jumped up in the air and wouldnt you know it i get down there and got a five. Anyone who wants to check out the course catch up with bone and he can give you directions. Got a good dose of what i enjoy the most about doing this, standing around a pickup and talking hunting with a couple guys about the upcoming season getting chewed up by skeeters and not caring about it just bulls--ting cant beat it. Hope to see some more of you guys there.

Week three was a little more difficult as the course was changed. Scott was the high man this week with a 176 and a local guy charlie was second with a 170 and bone and I tieing with a 166. I would like to thank the RDP guys for getting your crew together and coming down to shoot with us, i like adding the competition, and having a pile of hunters that are wound up every week to shoot and hunt.

Shwawn,
Thanks for getting the word out about this 3D course. It was always hard to find a place that did them when I lived there. Its good to see someone is still doing them. I know the guys on the team that have gone appreciate it and have been able to hone their skills for this upcoming fall because of it..Wish I was there to join..
Good luck to you this fall.. Bee looking for the pictures of your kills..
