Well here we were the last day of hunting for the season. I was still after the 8 point that I had seen on the 12th. But unfortunately it was 50 degrees today and 40mph winds so my hopes were slim but was looking forward to spending the afternoon in the tree. Whether I saw anything or not did not matter at this point, It had been a long and hard season for alot of the Real Deal team. We had all had some luck but not without ALOT of hours in the woods. So I got in the tree at 12:30 that afternoon hoping for the best. Well at 4:15 here came the 8 point I was trying for. Well per usual he was just out of range and went to a apple tree 95 yards..Then went and bedded down 150 yards away. Well alittle irritated but laughing to myself I turned around to pick up for the evening and there was a buck walking right to me. Well I grab my bow and draw immediately once I saw horns. I couldn't even tell you what he was at this point..LOL I settle the pin and release. Went in just a touch low and with him quartering at me I knew it would be a over nighter..I watched him go into the woods and then I got out of there. Me and Aaron went back the next morning and found him alittle over a 1/4 mile from the shot. Coyotes had chased him and he went in between some houses and bedded down. Not the best place to die but luckily it kept the coyotes off him. So he ended up being a 7 pointer, only 100 pounds. But I was proud as heck with him. 90 days of deer hunting HARD. I saw 1 spikehorn between 10/5 and 12/1..And from 12/2 to 12/15 I harvested 4 deer.. My best end to a season but my hardest overall.
