This is pretty much how it happened..We had been still hunting and calling all morning. Had actually tracked down 4 cows and a bull. Could not get a shot at the bull and could not catch back up with him..Then I get a text from a buddy telling me he just saw a big bull in a field. Well it just so happened that the field is 300 yards from my truck.LOL So I ask them if they want to go after him? They said sure..Well we are 6 miles from my truck. So 3 hours later we get there. Obviously he is gone. I knew we could track him down because I had been tracking these things all day. I found his track and we were off. Now we are on mile 11 for the day and these guys are 60 and 55. So we are dragging butt. We follow this for about 1/4 mile and I can see they are spent. So I tell them I will just call and if he dont come we will go home for the day. So I do 3 cow moans and look and see Ed on one knee ready. All a sudden I hear footsteps and look and here he comes. Well he is walking right at Ed and I am telling him to shoot him in the neck. He stops at about 15 to 17 yards. And I hear "CLICK" No bullet in the chamber..Now im in a panick and tell him hurry up and throw one in. Well the bull turns to go and I moan and he stops. Well Ed being a new hunter and never shot anything aims for the shoulder and lets drive..Knowing he wouldn't go down I told them to hit him again and as he went up the hill they got him in the neck and dropped him.. It was a great time with two great guys..I really enjoyed their company.And luckily they dropped it 30 yards from a trail. Hooked onto him with the wheeler and out we came.
