Well second morning of Vermont had Bone and myself in a stand Fowle and I hung the day before. The apple tree we were watching was literally glowing in the dark from all the apples on the ground. First light had a doe headed our way but she somehow dissapeared down below us. Then at about 7:30am I hit my bleat call and 2 minutes later I saw a tail wag behind the apple tree. Me and Bone got up and ready to take a shot. The 2 smaller ones came trotting through so I knew they were not going to eat..I drew back and when the biggest (I thought) stepped out I stopped her and let it fly. It was a touch low but a good hit. Well the other big doe was just standing there at 23 yards so I told Bone im taking her too. I grabbed another arrow and settled the pin and let the X Force do its work. Smoked her and she ran 40 yards and done. After some laughing and celebrating we went and began the work of getting these 2 out of the woods. First one ended up weighing 120 and the second 122. Two great does in about 30-45 seconds.
My Vermont archery season was over. With some good venison for the freezer. Now back to horn hunting!!!
