I started the season off right!! Opening day of bow season, I was lucky enough to harvest this buck. Armand and I headed out to our treestands at about 4:30 am. It was 75 degrees already and we had 30 mile an hour winds making it very difficult to hear any movement in the woods - except the 5 trees we heard falling around us!! At about 7:20 am, Armand looked to his right and saw the buck peaking his nose out. He said my name probably 10 times but I was concentrating on the other direction where I thought I heard something coming. Finally I heard him, turned around and had to take a shot! Because of the excitement, I shot quickly, using the wrong pin, and I spined him. Not one of my best shots. Thankfully I got another shot into him and was able to harvest my second velvet buck in two years of hunting!! I went from a spike with one horn, to a spike with two and now a 3 point! I'm moving on up! :-)
