I was the lucky winner. We hit one spot I had roosted birds, they ended up being Jake's so we got right out of there. Went to a traditional spot and was amazed to see nobody there. Hit the glass call and "Gobble" on the ridge. So straight up we go. Finally on top we found him headed towards where we had called. We set up real fast and I hit the mouth call. Well he came right in fast. He got to 40 yards and some birds walked by me going to him so I figured it was now or never and flattened him. The whole hunt was over in 5 minutes. A great start to our season for sure. So now we are off to the next spot. We decided to go walk a long ridge where Aaron usually hears birds. We got to the top of one ridge and "Gobble". Across on the next ridge were 2 or 3 of them. SO we headed over. Well they were coming to us also so once we got to the bottom of the ridge we had to set up because they were right there. We no sooner sat down and could see the bird coming. A few more soft calls from Aaron's diaphram and the longbeard came right in to 20 yards and Aaron hammered him. It was amazing that we had just got 2 nice birds in about 2 hours of the season. What a great start..and its going to get better.
