Aaron day and I roosted three birds the night before, we thought they were 3 longbeards and 3 jakes. Opening morning was here! Kyle and I overslept, luckily Aaron came and woke us up. We got set up at 4:25am. After chasing some cows away, the hunt was on! Birds finally flew down about 5:30am. They were everywhere and ended up being 7 longbeards and 3 Jakes. They were not cooperating and chased the hens all the way down the field. Then Aaron walked out behind us to try to sound like a hen leaving. They heard that and they were back on their way to us. The lead bird ran right to Floyd - Kyle hammered him! We were so pumped to have our first bird of the year. He ended up being 20lbs. with a 9 1/2 inch beard and 3/4 inch spurs. Congratulations Kyle on the first harvest of the season!
