Kyle Meade (Son of Armand Archibald of Real Deal)

Age 13 Youth weekend - NH Caliber - 308 Youth weekend was finally here and Kyle and I were ready! After having a tough time getting close enough during his first year archery hunting, we couldn't wait to have a rifle in hand. Opening day was horrible weather so we slept in that morning. That evening we set up on a field where I had been seeing two very nice bucks (Kyle has shot a few deer and asked me why I never put him where the big ones are!) The winds were so strong that we had to hold our Doghouse blind so that it wouldn't fly away! By dark, we had seen about 8 deer that Kyle had passed up waiting for the big ones. Right at last light, they showed up but came out above us where he could not shoot because of a chance of hitting distant houses. Sunday evening, we were back. At 5:55pm, a 3 point came out. Kyle had realized that the big buck harvest was just not going to happen and within 5 minutes of legal shooting time left, he put a perfect 100 yard shot on the buck. He ran 60 yards before piling into a tree and breaking one of his horns off. Just Kyles luck! Harvest or no harvest, these are by far my favorite days afield. Spending time with my son when it's just us having fun. Old Deadeye does it again!
