Two bucks in one week!! I was on fire!
Armand and I set up in the same stand that Matt had shot his 6 Pointer out of (see above). Like
clockwork, the turkeys came out around 5:00pm, but too far away to get a shot at them. We
watched another spike horn about 70-80 yards away for about a half hour or so hoping that he would come our way. No such luck. Right at last light, we finally heard something coming towards
the apple tree behind us. Another spike horn. I was ready! He came out, stood about 12 yards
from us, checked things out and decided things were safe. Boy was he wrong! As soon as he
stepped behind a small bush headed towards the field, I drew back. He was RIGHT UNDER our
stands, only about 3-5 yards away!! When he stepped out from behind the bushes, Armand
stopped him and I put a perfect quartering away shot on him. He ran maybe 50 yards and dropped!!
I thought it couldn't get much better than my last buck .... I was wrong. This was perfect!!
My second buck! Can't wait for rifle season!! Bucks beware! :-)
